This is my husband’s favorite burger. It is easy to make, and a mouthwatering meal that the whole family will enjoy. It’s also a fun dish to have the children pitch in and help to make!

Ingredients

Turkey patties

Gouda cheese

Honey wheat hamburger bun

½ onion

Cremini mushrooms (half a pack)

2 ounces Italian-style pancetta bacon (cubes)

Small tomato

1 pickle

Orange bell pepper

Mixed greens

½ avocado

Ingredients for mayo sauce:

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon ketchup

2 teaspoons mayonnaise

1 teaspoon agave syrup

Directions

Place frozen turkey burgers on a preheated grill or in a frying pan with olive oil. Cook each side for 6 minutes or until done.

Put a slice of cheese on top of the turkey patty right at the end.

Meanwhile, chop half an onion and caramelize in a skillet until golden.

In a different frying pan, cook the bacon and add thinly cut mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes.

Slice the tomato, pickle, bell pepper, and avocado.

For Mayo sauce: Mix ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and agave.

Heat the buns on a grill or toast them. Put 1 teaspoon of mayo sauce on the bottom, add avocado and mixed greens, tomato, pickles, and bell pepper. Put the turkey patty on top and add the mushrooms and caramelized onions.

Done! You can serve it as an open-face burger or a closed one.
