super simple rose sugar
This aromatic sugar is lovely. Sprinkle it over fresh fruit, stir it into tea or make a rose lemonade. Take regular sugar cookies up a notch by rolling them in rose sugar before baking. So simple to make, you’ll be thinking up more creative ways to use it! Store it in a pretty jar, add a bow and you have a lovely hostess gift or party favor.
Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup dried rose petals
Instructions
- Pick your rose petals and allow them to dry on a paper towel for one week.
- Pour sugar into a mini blender or food processer. Add dried rose petals and pulse on low speed until blended. Store in a sealed jar.
Tips:
- Use rose petals freshly picked from the garden, since roses from the florist are sprayed.
- If you want to keep some on hand to use in regular baking, increase measurements to the desired amount. Transfer to a ziploc bag or airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
