Greg absolutely loves this recipe for my cranberry sauce. As for me, I love cranberries so much I could eat them in almost any form—even the jellied stuff that slides out of a can in one piece! Greg, however, is more discerning in his choice, and this is the one recipe he enjoys most, every time I prepare a holiday meal.

So, if you have never made cranberry sauce, now is the time to give this a try. And let me assure you, you will be amazed how uncomplicated this recipe is! Not only is it easy; it is also delicious. It’s not overly sweet, and the combination of orange and cranberry is that perfect balance between sweet and tangy. Not to mention, fresh homemade cranberry sauce has to be the most gorgeous of colorful condiments you present on your holiday table.

Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces cranberries
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
Directions:
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice.
  2. Stir in the cranberries and cook until they start to pop (about 10 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and place sauce in a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
  4. Add some orange zest on top for extra flavor and garnish.
