I love using journals! Mostly for doodling and random note-taking. This leather journal is perfect for keeping yourself creatively in tune!

Directions:

  1. Cut the leather into a 19″ x 9″ piece
  2. Fold leather in half, leaving an extra 4–5″ flap to cut out. This will give you enough length for the closing flap at the end.
  3. Take 10 sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper and fold them in half. Repeat this about 4 more times. Next, place the stacks of folded paper inside the leather.
  4. Now were going to create the holes that bind the book. Measure 1 inch from the top and 1 inch from the bottom. There you will mark a dot on the crease.
  5. Thread your needle with the cord and stitch your first paper stack from the inside fold to the leather, hitting that 1″ dot you made so the cord shows from the outside of the journal. You will then come back around and hit the second dot you made. Repeat twice. Tie a knot.
  6. Do this same step for all of your paper stacks.
  7. Once all pages are in the journal, take the 5″ flap and close.
  8. I added an extra string to securely close the journal by wrapping it around! Feel free to make it your own.
