This simple organic centerpiece just takes minutes to put together, yet makes a big statement! In other seasons, you can switch out the pumpkin for a winter gourd or summer squash.

Things needed:

  • Your vase (I used a sugar pumpkin)
  • A sharp knife
  • Large spoon
  • Fresh flowers or berries on a stem

The how-to:

  1. Start by cutting the top off your pumpkin (or other natural vase). Just a simple straight cut horizontally across the top will do!
  2. Then take your spoon and hollow out the insides to leave it as clean as possible, free from the seeds and other strings of innards.
  3. Now take your fresh flowers and cut them to the desired length, just taller than your vase. I chose to wrap mine in brown paper before putting them in but you can also easily band or tie them together to keep the tight shape you desire.
  4. Place the flowers in your new centerpiece and enjoy!
