Yogurt Parfait to Go
Yogurt Parfait to Go
Over the last couple of years I’ve come to appreciate the humble mason jar and look for different ways to use them—from peach cobbler to layered salads . . . and recently, yogurt parfaits “to go.” This parfait is sweet and delicious, but also healthy and so easy. Make it with as much of each ingredient as you like, and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Greek yogurt (Use your favorite brand; my favorite is Trader Joe’s.)
- Fresh blueberries and strawberries (Other suggestions: bananas, peaches, figs…Choose your favorite or what’s in season.)
- Granola (I like to use Cascadian Farms Organic Oats & Honey Granola.)
Items needed to go:
- Mason jar with lid (I used a 4 oz. jar.)
- Spoon to go (plastic or bamboo)
- Small plastic baggie or plastic wrap
Directions:
- Wash and slice your fruit, removing the leaves from your strawberries.
- Layer yogurt and fruit into your mason jar. Be sure to leave room for your granola.
- I like my granola crunchy, so I add it just before I’m ready to enjoy. Besides, I have these cute little plastic baggies (3″ x 4″) that I purchased at Smart & Final. They hold 1/4 cup of granola, making them perfect for this “to go” recipe. If you don’t have any baggies, you can cover the fruit and yogurt with plastic wrap, throw your granola right on top. Put the lid on tight and you are ready to take this delicious “Yogurt Parfait to Go” anywhere.
These also make sweet little gifts for your coworkers, friends, neighbors, and family members. Enjoy!
