The Widow’s Mite
Bigger is not always better, and less can certainly be more in the Divine economy.
Standing in a dusty antiquity shop tucked away from the noisy streets of old Jerusalem, I stood with my Jewish guide Hepsi, and reflected on an important biblical principle.
Is Jesus watching us as we give? I’m sure He is; and if so, then what matters most is, what does He think of our giving? In an important lesson, He taught His disciples about giving. No gift is too small that He doesn’t notice.
We may be surprised that He takes a nameless widow with just two copper coins a makes her the heroine of the story.

The story of the widow moved me to remember that not only do we give God everything, but that in giving Him everything we demonstrate our faith and trust in Him to provide for all our needs!

Cathe, thank you for sharing this lovely video with us. It takes us to a place most of us will never have an opportunity to visit, yet we sense God's presence in that place! What a lovely and loving God we serve, who thousands of years ago noticed that widow with the little that she had, yet noticed her heart's sacrifice. What a wonderful reminder that He sees our hearts today. May we have a heart like that precious widow.

Very neat! I am curious though...was your Jewish guide a believer in Christ? What an amazing witness this all was to her if she wasn't.
Blessings,
