Materials:

  • Fabric (any material)
  • Wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins
  • Sewing machine

Instructions:

  1. Cut fabric into a 30″ x 10″ rectangle and cut 1 yard of wire.
  2. Create a 3″ loop at each end of wire so you end up with a 30″ long wire. (This keeps the wire from piercing through the end of the fabric and gives shape to the ends when you twist the top.)
  3. Fold fabric lengthwise, right sides together. Pin in place and sew 1/4″ along the edge to create a tube. Close only one end of the tube. Turn right side out.
  4. Drop wire in to the fabric tube.
  5. Fold open edge inward and sew closed.
  6. Wrap around your head and twist wire into a knot or a bow!

Notes:

  • To create a fuller bow or knot, adjust the width and the length of your fabric.
  • If the wire is too mobile in the fabric, you can add a small hand stitch at each end to hold in place.
