What tastes better than sweet, tangy barbequed pork ribs that are falling off the bone? Our family gatherings for Father’s Day, and throughout the warm summer months, are sure to include this special treat. They are so easy to prepare and smothered in finger-lickin’ flavor! I like to serve them with a healthy salad, some baked beans, or a baked potato with all the toppings.

Here is a hint: use heavy-duty aluminum foil to line your pan. This is simply a must in my book, as it will catch all the baked-on drippings and make doing dishes a breeze. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 2 sides (or about 3 pounds) of pork ribs
  • Salt and pepper
  • Barbeque sauce

Directions:

  1. Place the ribs in a container just large enough to hold them, one side on top of the other. After seasoning with salt and pepper, pour half of the barbeque sauce over the ribs.
  2. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Place the ribs in a baking pan and bake, turning the ribs frequently, for 2 hours, or until the meat is very tender. In my opinion, there is nothing more disappointing than a tough chewy rib, so don’t rush this step.
  3. Under a preheated broiler or on a wood-fire grill, glaze the ribs for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they take on a nice brown color. Watch carefully so they don’t burn. Remove the ribs and cut each side into individual pieces.

Arrange the ribs in an overlapping fashion on each plate or on a large serving platter. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side.
