Here is a simple and quick way to turn a small bunch of your favorite flowers into an elegant centerpiece! The key to this method is using clear tape to make a grid over the top of your vase or pot so that, as you arrange the flowers in their respective holes, they don’t lean or clump together and your arrangement will stay nice and orderly—even when moved from counter to table to shelf.

To start, take a pot or vase (I used a tin container) and place strips of clear tape in rows horizontally across the opening about a half inch to one inch apart. Then place rows of tape vertically going across the opening, the same width apart. Now take a small bunch of your favorite flowers (I like to stick with all the same kind and color for a clean modern look) and cut the stems at a diagonal so the length is just slightly taller than the vase. Doing this under cool running water seems to help the flowers last a little longer. Fill your vase about halfway with fresh water and arrange the flowers into the grid-like opening at the top of the vase.

Depending on the thickness of the flower stems, some will have one or two flowers per square while others will have more. The object is to fill all the squares with flowers of approximately the same height, while not squishing in too many. This will create a nice uniform arrangement that can be easily moved and looks great anywhere in your home.
