I am always thinking of new things I can make with cream cheese, and I have made many of them over the years. But this year, I put together an appetizer that has been a big hit, looks very festive, and is yummy! It is so easy, just a few steps, and you can add more or less of any of the ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese
  • 1 bottle of Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce (I use Bronco Bob’s from Albertson’s)
  • 1 package of fresh raspberries
  • 1 pomegranate
  • Toasted pistachios (a quick way to do this is to put them in a dry frying pan and let them brown, stirring often so they don’t burn)
  • 1 orange

Directions

  1. Put the cream cheese on a nice serving platter.
  2. Pour the chipotle sauce over the cream cheese, letting it run onto the plate (you can use a lot of sauce or just a little; it looks good both ways).
  3. Add the raspberries, pomegranate seeds, and toasted pistachios on top.
  4. Zest the rind of the orange on top, just enough to make it look pretty, and there you have it!
