ponytail braids 3 ways
I have always loved doing my hair since I was a little girl, specifically, braiding my hair! Lately, ponytail braids are all the rage—great for when you’re working out, running errands, or even slicked back for a stylish casual look. Here are three of my favorite simple ponytails for any occasion.
Supplies
Hairbrush
Hair Ties
Hair Wax (optional)
How To
-
Bubble Braid
Start with hair in a ponytail. Abound an inch or two down from the top of the pony, wrap another hair tie around hair. Slightly pull on the hair so it forms a bubble-like shape. Continue down the rest of the ponytail, slightly pulling and tightening hair until you’ve reached the desired end; secure with a hair tie. Lightly pull some of the strands to fluff the braid and give it more volume. If desired, use hair wax to smooth flyaways.
-
Regular Braid
Start with hair in a ponytail. Separate pony into three sections, and beginning on one side, cross the outside strand over the middle and repeat on the opposite side, forming a braid. Continue until you’ve reached the desired end; secure with a hair tie. Lightly pull some strands to fluff the braid and give it more volume. If desired, use hair wax to smooth flyaways.
-
Fishtail Braid
Start with hair in a ponytail. Separate pony into two halves. Starting on the left side, take a thin strand of hair on the outer end and cross it over to the right side. On the right side, repeat to the left and so on. Continue this until you’ve reached the desired end; secure with a hair tie. Lightly pull at some of the strands to fluff the braid and give it more volume. If desired, use hair was to smooth flyaways.
