12824_aAs I write this, it’s day 6 of my hospital stay after being admitted due to my water breaking at 31 weeks and 5 days with our second child, a baby boy.

My daughter, Briar (two years old), came to see me last night, which is only the second time I’ve seen her since being here. We had such a sweet time! She was here for two hours; I am amazed she lasted that long in this unfamiliar place. We colored, listened to princess music, shared sweet goodies, and talked about our days. It felt like just a normal night in our living room! After she left I fell peacefully asleep reflecting on the sweet time we had.

One particular moment stuck with me and stayed a focus into my morning. We had a special time singing a sweet little Bible song: “The wise man built his house upon the rock . . .” (hand motions and all).

As I reflected on that sweet moment, God gave me His truthful promises. “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken” (Psalm 62:5–6 NKJV).

It will rain trials and tribulations, and times of uncertainty may begin to flood in, but knowing the Contractor of my foundation and the security I have in Him, I will not be shaken or moved, for in Him I can stand firm. I can thrive, for in my weakness He is made strong.
