Names of God: Jehovah-Shalom
MEANING:“The Lord Our Peace” implies God perfecting the kind of peace that results from being a whole person in right relationship with God and others. | VERSE:“So Gideon built an altar . . . to the Lord and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace.” —Judges 6:24 NKJV |
FACT:Jehovah-Shalom is translated “peace” 170 times. It means “whole,” “finished,” “fulfilled,” or “perfected” and is really a title rather than a name of God. | PRAYER:Lord, I pray for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. |
There are many names given to God in the Bible, and each one helps to illustrate a facet of God’s character. These names are placed in Scripture that we might know and understand more about Him.
We encourage you to know more about God’s character through the study of some of His names!

Wow! Just learning the meaning of the names of our Lord God, and that I could just go to His names in times of trials. It's just so completly comforting that our Father is so almighty yet humbled. He is all knowing and true and the same today as yesterday and will be tomorrow. To know that every one of us is better than the hairs on our head and yet, so PEACEFUL!!! You just want to climb right into His arms for comfort and safty and Peace! Then it just seems to be easier in your next time of hardship because you know were you can go and just be lifted up with His Love. My Birthday is in August and I am going to carry in my heart His title for my month. "Whole" " Finished" "Fulfilled" "Perfected" The-Lord-is-Peace! Thank You Cathie

I just want to thank you for doing the names of my God. I have been following it since January and I am grateful for your effort and encourage you to continue until all names and prayers are done. The pictues with the Hebrew writtings are colorful and beautiful. I have been printing them and placing them in my kitchen for continued rememberance. May you forever be in His presence!
