Marbled Mug
Looking for a fun DIY to make for your hubby or that special someone for Valentine’s day or birthday coming up soon? This marbled mug is the perfect gift for any occasion, considering we all love coffee and tea!
It’s so simple to create and would make a fun craft to do with your kiddos. All the goods were purchased from the Dollar Tree making this an inexpensive yet effective little project!
The Goods:
- A mug (or two or ten)
- Nail Polish (Your color preference)
- Plastic Container (One you don’t mind getting a little residue on)
- Toothpicks
- Wax or Parchment paper
- Warm Water
The How To:
- Fill your bowl about half-full with warm water.
- Slowly pour in some nail polish until it starts to disperse in the water, then pour a little more. Use a toothpick to swirl the nail polish around to create your design.
- Dip your mug directly into the water (make sure not to let any water get inside of the cup). When you see the nail polish start to adhere to the mug, hold the mug in place for about 4 seconds.
- Use a toothpick to remove any excess nail polish from the water and then remove mug.
- Let it dry on the wax or parchment paper for an hour.
- Now you have a beautifully marbled mug* to gift to a loved one or a friend!
Note: To make a layered marble mug, do the first color and let the mug dry on wax/parchment paper for about 5 minutes. Then proceed with the second color.
*We suggest hand washing these beauties!
Happy Marbling!!
