Psalm 42 deals with the "ups and downs" believers go through as we struggle with our circumstances and our perspective. Here we have the reminder that we cannot always control our circumstances, but we can and must control our perspective and the way we handle what comes our way. Can you think of a time that focusing on the Lord and His Word has helped you to maintain the right perspective in the midst of difficult circumstances?

My mom is terminally ill with cancer. She has been fighting for years, and she just keeps surviving all the odds and doctors' expectations of morality. She lives alone because it is her fervent desire to remain in her home to the end. But her mind is not sound at this time, and she should not be alone. I have tried to move her to a home so she can be looked after, but she refuses to go. She will not cooperate with any efforts to move out of her house. I can't do enough to keep her safe there alone. I can't make her go where she will be safe. I know that God is able to do all things. I want to know what He is calling me to do for my mom at this time. I feel angry with my mother for being so stubborn in her attitude, even though intellectually I understand that she is out of her right mind. When I feel lost and tormented, I remember God's lovingkindness. He has been pouring it out on us all this time. He has rescued my mother from the brink of death, and He has given me so many resources to call upon. His mighty deeds in my life, when I remember them, cause me to sing with great joy, for He is the God of my life, and Mom's life, too. I am waiting to see what He will do, but I am singing while I wait.

I will remember when the Lord brought me to Harvest where the teachings are rich, deep and satisfying. Thank you Cathe for listening to the voice of the Spirit in these teachings. Now I know what to do when my soul is downcast. Run to God!

I can honestly say, I have enjoyed every lesson by the Psalmist! And, the leaders sharing their message along with their life testimonies has helped. It gives us women, the strength and encouragement we need.. . Plus the need to seek more. It's a blessing to have such great leaders!

God knows my heart, He is doing a new thing within us and I am so glad to be a part of your studies online!
May God continue to bless you all. I have started listening to Pastor Greg more recently and I am blessed beyond belief. I pray we all will see each other in Heaven when Jesus comes to take us home! AMEN!
