VERSE:

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” —John 8:12

 NOTE:

Candles burned to symbolize the pillar of fire that led the people of Israel and represented God’s presence, protection, and guidance. By following Jesus, one does not have to stumble in the darkness of wickedness. Jesus illuminates our path in this dark world.

 PRAYER:

Lord, illuminate my darkness that I might walk in Your truth and grace. Jesus, You are a light unto my path and lamp unto my feet (Psalm 119:105). Shine, Jesus, shine! Amen
