Homemade Sugar Scrubs
Mothers appreciate everything we give them; isn’t that true? I have come to find that they especially love things that are homemade. Even if it is something that they will never use, or would never actually want, they love it because it was made from the hands of their babes. So this Mother’s Day, I decided to make something homemade that she will actually use!
You can do this with ingredients you most likely have in your kitchen already.
What you need:
- A jar with a lid
- Sugar
- Olive Oil (or if you happen to have coconut oil or peanut oil, that will work too.)
- Essence Oil* (peppermint, lavender, vanilla, lemon, etc. The scent is really up to your preference.)
*You can skip the essence oil if you just like the smell of whichever oil you choose.
Directions:
Pour sugar into the jar, filling it. Pour oil on top of the sugar to cover it. Stir the sugar and oil together to coat the sugar. While you are doing this, you may notice that you need to add more oil. You want the sugar to be coated with oil, but not swimming in it. Now add a few drops of your essence oil and stir. Add more until you like the smell, but you should not need too much.
And there you have it: an affordable homemade gift I am sure your mother will love…and use!
