Cranberry Vinaigrette
Cranberry Vinaigrette
This delicious dressing is a great hostess gift for a holiday party! It also works well in any season! Let’s just say it’s an all-around favorite salad dressing, and when packaged nicely, makes a simple, inexpensive, yet thoughtful gift.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup light olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
- Place the cranberries, sugar, and vinegar in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries pop, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
- Puree the cranberry mixture in a blender. Pour the puree into a medium bowl and whisk in the mustard and orange juice. Gradually whisk in the oil. The dressing should become smooth and emulsified.
- Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until needed. Delicious served on a salad of mixed greens, pears, and walnuts.

Where can I find bottles for the dressing? I'm also looking for small (4-6 oz) bottles for other gifts. Anybody know where I can find inexpensive bottles?

Try a Hobby Lobby? Maybe Michaels Craft store.

Hi Maxine, I got these particular bottles at Crate and Barrel a few years ago, but have also seen similar ones at Cost Plus World Market. These also make great gifts in canning jars! You can tie bakers twine or string around the top and add a gift tag or label to dress it up… Hope this helps!!

I made this yesterday for our family Thanksgiving meal, and it was a hit! Everyone liked the salad dressing. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Now if I can just find a recipe for fresh raspberry vinaigrette.
