Who Am I in Christ?
It’s easy, as women, to get caught up in trying to find identity and significance in the things we wear, or the things we buy, or even the people we surround ourselves with.
As Christians, however, we know that our identity is found in Christ. We are His design and He has placed His seal on our lives.
Some friends and I talk more about this subject over coffee in this video taken in Rome, Italy.

You are exactly right. We can get caught up in worldly things if we don't stay alert and vigilant.

Ties in with an exchange I shared a few days ago, we were talking about how our parents instilled us with values about how people are more important than clothes, but we were talking about hand-me-downs and thrift store purchases--not haute couture! Our identity in Christ means that we will all be robed one day in spotless white, and there will be no distinction as we are transformed into our glorified bodies, so that we can truly be all we were meant to be created in His image. Now that's "High fashion!"

Cathe, You read one of my all time favorite scriptures!!! And I loved how all of you spoke about eternity and the amazing life promised to us as believers in Jesus! I am so blessed by being in your Wednesday morning study, SIMPLY JESUS. May God bless you and your family as you continue to bless everyone who knows and loves you.

I really like this...and I think if we, as women, really learned to grasp who we are in Christ Jesus, it would set us free from a lot of the unnecessary hurt/pain that we put ourselves through sometimes.

Thank you for this video! I didn't get a chance to watch it till today, and I felt like I was right there sipping coffee with you and sharing Jesus and our everyday lives!! I would love to have these types of discussions with my Christian girlfriends - once I make more of them :)
The only thought I want to add is it's also so easy to become a slave to those things around us! I struggle with some of the lesser obvious "sins" like wanting nicer or more things that in and of themselves aren't necessarily sinful, but when they start to come before Christ, for me, that becomes my downfall. We need to stay in the Word everyday (and I'm repeating that now as I struggle to read the Word everyday myself)!!
God bless your ministry Cathe!

Thank you for the encouraging words you all shared. I work in retail and have joking called it Babylon central. So easy to think that this or that will satisfy. A label creates such a stir and a sale a frenzy. What if we peeled back our outer skin and took a peek to see a label that said Created By God. How would we be clothed then? This time change has me up much too early. Loved the sharing ladies and God bless you all.

Wow, Trish! Praise God that He awoke you early. Your words spoke to me; my label. Yes, God's label! I am certainly thinking deeply about how I want to be seen, as I "hang" on God's rack. God bless you. And, Cathe, May God continue to richly bless the Virtue ministry.

Thank you . We came back from Maui refreshed and I had finally accepted Jesus into my life... But we walked into my beautiful 17 year old daughter moving out due to our rules, etc...my heart has been broken. Life has been overwhelming since then .But this reminder to " hold things loosely" was a much needed break.
