Chalkboard Menu
I love how simple and fun chalkboard paint is. It can be used on a variety of different items, but one of my favorites is painting it onto a slab of wood. I live in Orange County and there are not many fallen trees just laying around, waiting for someone to slice a piece off for an art project, so I picked mine up at a local craft store. (For those of you who have fallen trees in your yard—totally jealous.)
In the process of planning for our Easter lunch, I thought it would be cute to write the menu out and place it with a simple centerpiece.
For this project you will need:
- Piece of wood (always best from a fresh tree, or you can purchase at a local home store)
- Sand paper
- Black chalkboard paint
- Foam brushes
- Chalkboard markers in assorted colors
Directions:
- Sand one side of your piece of wood so it’s smooth.
- Using the foam brush, apply the chalkboard paint. Let it dry.
- Repeat the previous step until you have three coats completed.
- Once dry, using your chalkboard markers, write out the menu for the meal.

I love this Stephanie. I did something similar for my daughter's baby shower. I used framed chalkboards. Painted the frames the color of the shower and used chalkboard markers to write items of foods. I love the tree look you show! It just adds so much to your tables :)
