Caramel Popcorn
This recipe is easy to make with just a few ingredients that are often kept in the kitchen. It will be hard to resist making this every night after dinner when you crave a little sweetness. For less richness, substitute milk for the heavy cream.

Ingredients
- Popped popcorn
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1/3 cup of water
- 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
Directions
- Mix the water and sugar in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan. Cover and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Increase the heat and boil uncovered until the sugar turns a medium brown (approximately 5-7 minutes), stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Watch it carefully at the end, as it will go from caramel to burnt very quickly.
- Gradually add the cream. Simmer until the caramel dissolves and the sauce is smooth and thick (approximately 2 minutes).
- Pour caramel sauce over freshly-popped popcorn, stir gently to evenly coat and enjoy! If you prefer, add another 1/4 cup of heavy cream to the sauce and let it cool to room temperature before you pour it over the popcorn.
