A Place for Your Bows
I love sweet little bows and headbands on my two girls, but we are constantly untangling, misplacing, and unbending them as they get tossed around a drawer! Since I have seen many a hanging ribbon with bows on it, I combined this idea with an old picture frame we had and put it to new use.
Things you’ll need:
- A good-size picture frame (This depends on the amount of hair bows you are organizing. Since we have quite a collection, I used a large picture frame; but if you are doing a few, a smaller 8″ x 10″ would work too.)
- Ribbon
- Spray paint (This is optional but gives a great finished look)
- Staple gun
- Screw hooks (I found these inexpensive ones at my local hardware store with a ribbed end to screw in easily.)
How to get your new bow hanger:
- Screw your hooks into the bottom front of the frame.
- Spray-paint the frame and hooks.
- Once dry, measure strips of ribbon across the inside of the frame and cut your desired amount. Make sure to measure an extra inch or so, on each end, for attaching purposes. I also suggest using pinking shears to cut your ribbon to reduce frayed edges.
- Working on the backside of the frame, staple one side of the ribbon, pull taut, and then staple the opposite side of ribbon the other side of the back of the frame. Work your way down the backside of your frame using this same technique with multiple strips of ribbon.
- Now flip over your newly transformed frame and organize those bows! The hooks hanging from the bottom of the frame are great for hanging headbands or hair ties too!

I MUST try to make this, if not for me then for my 4 nieces :) I'm pretty sure they'll love it!! And you can bet that their moms will be less stressed when getting them all purrtty w/ their bows at bay!

I want to try this. Was your frame completely wood?

Hi Andrea, Yes this particular frame was all wood. I'm sure you could use a frame of other material but make sure it would hold the staple gun and also the screws on the bottom! Wood seemed to me to be the best choice because it is solid yet can take the screw hooks and staples well!! Hope this helps!

Hi Brittany,
Are you going to be selling this or your jewelry tree at the Lovely Market?
Thanks!
