Over time I have collected many artsy postcards and gift cards that I love to look at… Here is something fun to reuse these cards by making them into mini notepads. You can use them for journaling, note taking, list making etc. I love to take a little one with me for my sermon notes each time we start a new series. I also enjoy making them for Stella to draw in, we have made some just this past week reusing some of her favorite birthday cards. They can also make great heartfelt gifts, just add your own personal note.

Materials You will Need:

  • 4” x 6” postcard or other one sided card
  • 3 pieces of 8.5” x 11” paper
  • X-acto blade
  • Ruler
  • Cutting board
  • Stapler
  • Bone Folder (this is an optional tool, very inexpensive at a craft store, and super handy to make nice crisp folds)

Instructions for Notepads:

  1. Cut 1” off the long side of your paper, making it 7.5” x 11”. Do this to all 3 sheets.
  2. Fold each sheet into quarters. Cut along folds, so you now have 12 small sheets of paper
  3. Stack the sheets, and fold in half (use your bone folder or another sharp edged item such as a ruler) making a clean fold
  4. Fold your postcard in half and smooth down crease here as well.
  5. Place your pages centered on the back of the postcard lining up the creases. Hold in place, then flip over and secure in place with two staples along the fold line parallel with the crease.
  6. Now your notebook is complete. (Pressing the fold line again here with your bone folder gives you a nice flat notebook)
