I love Valentine’s Day. The colors, the sweets, and the overall cheer just leave me feeling happy and festive for pink and red. This little jar of sweets is so easy to make and give to a friend, neighbor, or teacher. There are many possibilities to suit it to your taste or occasion. Use them for favors filled with gum or popcorn. Throw in some fun little trinkets and a gift card. I made one to give to someone special for Valentine’s Day, just to show I care.

I recently bought a package of mason jars at the grocery store. They are affordable and add that little something extra to the presentation. But if you can’t find them or need something at the last minute, just use any jar that you have!

Materials Needed:

  • Small jar
  • Cupcake liner
  • Baker’s twine or ribbon
  • Candy

Directions

  1. Take the lid off the jar and fill it with candy. For this project, I chose conversation hearts. But it is also fun to use gumballs for a birthday gift.
  2. Take two cupcake liners and flatten them out. Fit them on top of the jar and flatten down around the brim.
  3. Tightly wrap the twine or ribbon around the folded-over liner and make a bow. There, you’re done. It’s that easy!
