Note: For those unable to attend, the studies (printable lessons and video of the lectures) will be available online here at Virtue weekly. No registration is necessary to take advantage of the online lessons.

The purpose of our Virtue Bible Study is to lay a spiritual foundation in women’s lives that will enable them to grow in their Christian walk and make a godly impact in their homes, on the job, and in their schools and neighborhoods.

The format is designed to provide personal daily time with the Lord through a written lesson, weekly lectures by one of the teaching leaders on the material, and small group discussion and interaction designed to promote fellowship and friendship.

This year we will be studying “Faith, Hope, and Love in Action” studies in the epistles of James, 1 & 2 Peter and 1 John.

Riverside Virtue study details:

Dates: Thursdays beginning September 16, 2010 to late April 2011
Morning study: 9:15 A.M. to 11:15 A.M.
Evening study: 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Place: Harvest: Riverside, Main Sanctuary (6115 Arlington, Riverside, CA)

Two types of study are offered for both the morning and evening studies:

  • Deductive: Questions are asked, answered, and applied by exploring a passage or text of Scripture. The emphasis is on learning that is read, received, and responded to in daily life, allowing the student to not only hear the Word of God but also to do it!
  • Inductive: Learning that is based upon personal discovery obtained by a three-step process: observation, interpretation, and application of a passage of Scripture to daily life.

Both study methods promote personal discipline at home and accountability learning through group sharing. More information about the study methods can be obtained through the class administrator or group leader.

Children’s Ministry is available for nursery–Grade 5 at the morning study only. A Student Helper program is also available for students in Grades 6–12. If you would like to enroll your child or student in one of these programs, you must pre-register them when you sign up for the study. Please note the following:

  • Nursery and toddler care is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis each week.
  • Children enrolled in the program must be related to the mother, aunt, or grandmother attending the study. We are not able to accept children who an attendee baby-sits.
